Hi, I am Hilrett and please call me Retty.  I am a new teacher and I really enjoy having lessons with my students at Best Teacher!  I look forward to meeting my students every day. Whether it is to have a speaking lesson or just to have a conversation with them.  Classes are interesting as we can exchange a lot of information about English, our daily lives, travel, etc.  
こんにちは！私の名前はHilrettですが、Rettyと呼んでください。 新しくベストティーチャーに加わり、レッスンで生徒のみなさんとのお話をとても楽しんでいます！話題は様々ですが英語学習、日常生活、旅行についてなど、たくさんの情報を交換できるので、レッスンはとても興味深いです。

I am from the Caribbean, specifically Jamaica.  Jamaica is a small island surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. It is a tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, rivers, and waterfalls, for example, the famous Dunn’s River Falls, so, of course, I like going to the beach!  As a child, I grew up in the countryside, then moved to the city of Kingston after high school.  Moving to the city after high school is common in Jamaica. The reasons for this are that prominent universities are in the city and there are also more job opportunities there.  However, I do prefer living in the countryside. I enjoy the fresh air.  Maybe I will move back home in the future.
私はカリブ諸島の国、ジャマイカ出身です。 ジャマイカはカリブ海に囲まれた小さな島です。美しいビーチや川、有名なダンズ・リバー・フォールズなどの滝で知られる観光地なので、もちろんビーチに行くのも好きです！ 子どもの頃、私は田舎で育ち、高校卒業後に都会のキングストンに引っ越しました。 ジャマイカでは、高校卒業後に都会へ引っ越すのが一般的ですが、それは、有名大学があり仕事の選択肢も多いからです。 でも、私は田舎の新鮮な空気が好きなので、 おそらく将来は故郷に戻ると思います。

After leaving high school, I went to college to study Accounting and Management.  While working, I decided to continue my studies at university. My major in university is Human Resource Management.  Working and studying was difficult for me but my philosophy is “hard work gives great rewards.”
高校を卒業後、カレッジで会計と経営について学びました。そして就職後も、大学でヒューマン・リソース・マネジメント(人的資源管理)の勉強を続けることにしました。 働きながら勉強するのは大変でしたが、私の理念 "努力は大きな報酬をもたらす "を信じてやり抜きました。

After studying Accounting and Management, I worked in administration for seven years in a company and 8 years in an accounting firm in the administrative department.  Why did I choose this major? My main reason is that I am a people person and I like interacting with people.  I have worked in administrative positions for seventeen years and over seven years in ESL.  
会計とマネジメントを学んだ後、総務の仕事を7年間、会計事務所の管理部門で8年間働きました。 なぜこの専攻を選んだのか？それは、私が人と接するのが好きだからです。 私は17年間管理部門で働き、7年以上ESLとして働きました。

My hobbies are traveling, listening to music, singing, and eating ice- cream. I have traveled to the United States two times and I traveled there this August.  A trip to the United States is common among Jamaicans since we are just one and a half hours from Miami by airplane.  I have visited Maryland, Michigan, Washington DC, Atlanta, Florida, and Chicago.  While I was in Maryland, I visited the Smithsonian Museum.  It is so large!  I did not get to see everything.  I will go there again.
趣味は旅行、音楽鑑賞、歌うこと、そしてアイスクリームを食べることです。アメリカには2回行ったことがあり、2023年の8月にも行きました。 ジャマイカはマイアミから飛行機で1時間半の距離なので、ジャマイカ人にとってアメリカ旅行は一般的です。 これまでにメリーランド、ミシガン、ワシントンDC、アトランタ、フロリダ、シカゴを訪れました。 メリーランド州ではスミソニアン博物館を訪れました。 とても広く全部は見られなかったので、また行きたいです！

There is a famous place in Kingston, Jamaica called The Devon House, that sells a variety of ice cream flavors, I like visiting there.  The ice cream is so delicious and you can relax. My favorite flavors are pralines and cream.
ジャマイカのキングストンには、いろいろなフレーバーのアイスクリームを売っている「デヴォン・ハウス」という、私のお気に入りでもある有名な店があります。 とてもおいしくて、リラックスできる良い雰囲気のお店なんです。ちなみに、私の好きなフレーバーはプラリネとクリームです。
