Hi, Cherie Here! I am from the capital city of the Philippines. I have been in the ESL industry for quite a long time, yet I am a newbie here at Best Teacher. So far, I am enjoying working with Japanese students; they may have shy personalities but are so interactive.
こんにちは、Cherieです! 私はフィリピンの首都出身で、ESL業界には長く身を置いていますが、ベストティーチャーでは新米の講師です。日本人の生徒とのレッスンを楽しんでいます！少しシャイな方も多いですが、とても積極的だと感じています。

Working from home has always been my choice since it allows me to be a full-time mom to my daughter. My job has helped my daughter learn English vocabulary and expressions without me noticing it. I get surprised when she utters words in English that I know I have not taught her yet.
在宅勤務は母親という立場でもフルタイムで働くことができるので、常に選択肢の一つとして考えていました。私の仕事の影響で、娘は気づかないうちに英語の単語やフレーズを覚えていました。私がまだ教えていない単語を娘が口にすると、とても驚きます！

As you may know, English is also our second language in my country. Even if we use our mother tongue in our daily conversations, I am confident that my daughter can communicate well in English if she needs to.

ご存じのように、私の国では英語は第二言語でもあります。たとえ日常会話では母国語を使っていても、英語が必要とされる時に娘は十分コミュニケーションが取れると確信しています。

Why do I like her to be fluent in our home language or mother tongue?
It is because I would like her to take pride in our culture and roots.

ではなぜ、私が娘に母国語を流暢に話してほしいと思うのか？
それは私たちの文化やルーツに誇りを持ってほしいからです。

On the other hand, English has the power to connect people from different countries and increase the likelihood of getting better job opportunities, so in my free time, my daughter pretends to be my English teacher, and she enjoys doing it.

一方で、英語にはさまざまな国の人々をつなぐ力があり、また、英語が話せることでより良い仕事に就ける可能性も高まります。そのため、私に時間がある時には、娘に英語の先生のふりをしてもらい、楽しみながら英語に慣れ親しんでいけるようにしています。
