INTRODUCTION 18： Arlene Quicho講師 (Philippines)　

2018年よりベストティーチャーで活躍するArlene講師から、自己紹介メッセージが届きました！

 Hi, I'm Arlene! I’ve been teaching in Best Teacher since 2018.
こんにちは、アーリーンです！2018年からベストティーチャーで教えています。

I was born and raised in Batangas, Philippines but I currently reside in Rizal, Philippines, which is on the outskirts of Metro Manila. I have a BS in Development Communication and I majored in communication broadcasting. 
私はフィリピンのバタンガスで生まれ育ちましたが、現在はマニラ郊外のリサールに住んでいます。私は開発コミュニケーションの理学士号を持っており、コミュニケーション放送を専攻していました。

My first job was proofreading. I eventually pursued my dream of working in a TV network as a researcher in an early morning show under the News and Public Affairs Department. While working as a researcher, I realized that I was more interested in English and literature, so I applied as an online English teacher at a Korean company. During that time, my students had various challenging questions about grammar and pronunciation, so I decided to further my studies in English by taking a master's degree in English studies. I majored in language. I completed my academic units, and I am hoping to finish my graduate research. I am planning to continue my studies in the future to address students' various concerns about learning English. It's my pleasure to share my knowledge and expertise with you. I never cease to learn in this field because I have a passion for it.
最初についた仕事は「校正」でした。それから、テレビ局のニュース・広報部で早朝番組のリサーチャーとして働くという夢を追うようになりました。そして、リサーチャーとして働いているうちに、英語と文学に興味をもち、韓国のオンライン英会話の会社で、講師としてのキャリアを積みました。生徒から文法や発音について様々な難しい質問をされ、刺激を受けることで、私もさらに英語の知識を深めたいと思い、言語学の修士号を取得しました。単位は取り終わったので、卒業研究も終えたいと思っていますが、英語学習に関する様々な悩みに応えられるよう、今後も研究は続けようと思っています。私の知識と経験を皆さんと分かち合えたら嬉しく思います。この分野への情熱は尽きることがありません。

さて、ここで私の趣味を紹介しますね。

These days, I'm into watching popcorn movies that show a slice of everyday life. I'm also fond of writing short stories, poems, and essays. My ultimate dream is to publish my own novel and I hope to manage to squeeze it into my daily schedule. 
最近は、日常を切り取ったポップコーンムービーを見ることにハマっています。また、短編小説や詩、エッセイを書くのも好きです。最終的な夢は自分の小説を出版することなので、日々の忙しいスケジュールの中に、どうにか詰め込みたいと思っています。

I am also a nature lover. I have a small garden where I grow flowering plants, foliage plants, herbs, and fruit trees.
私は自然愛好家でもあります。自宅には小さな庭があり、花の苗、葉物、ハーブ、果樹を育てています。

Moreover, I have a passion for singing. I sing on a karaoke app, covering the songs of various singers, from local to international artists!
さらに、歌うことも好きです。カラオケアプリで、地元から海外のアーティストまで、さまざまな歌手の曲をカバーして歌います！

I am also a foodie, but my favorite food is the iconic food of my hometown named "Lomi Batangas." It's noodles in a thick pork broth topped with pork liver, pork rind, and kikiam. It's eaten along with other trimmings. 
また、食通でもあり、一番好きな食べ物は故郷を代表する "ロミ バタンガス"です。濃厚な豚のスープに麺を入れ、豚レバー、豚皮、キキアムをトッピングしたものです。
いろんな具材と一緒に食べます。
