I'd like to talk about my children, and share our worries about child rearing. I've heard that you have children who are university students. I have three children, and the eldest son are preparing for his entrance exam for a university. I have also a girl in a middle school, and a boy in a primary school. Their education is really a big problem.

In Japan, the education system is highly competitive. Most school children need to study hard to enter a famous university as much as they can. The reason is that their jobs and salaries in the future are largely influenced by which universities they graduate. As a result, a private-tutoring as well as a cram school is very popular among students.

That's right. My eldest son is always worried about his score because he will take an entrance exam in next February. All of my children go to some private tutoring schools after usual ones, but the younger two are easy-going. They always frolic around. The education fees are by no means negligible. How about your experiences with your children?

The situation seems to be almost similar among us. In my opinion, a school record largely depends on one's exam technical skills rather than his clearness of head, doesn't it? Anyway, most people would believe the benefit of tutoring outweighs its cost. I hope my son will pass the exam. Have you and your husband taught homework for your children?

I agree with you. I guess the economic recession has a significant influence on education. The rate of unemployment as well as non-regular workers is increasingly rising recently. As a result, the economic inequality has become a serious social issue, and it would translate into the disparity of educational levels among children. It's tough times.
Yes, I agree. The economic recession is affecting education. The rate of employment has also risen. Thus, resulting in economic equality becoming a detrimental issue.
