Hello, I would like to go downtown. Would you please tell me how to get there? I have a large baggage. Do you have any recommendation of transportation?

Hello, I would like to go downtown. Would you please tell me how to get there? I have some large baggage. What form of transportation do you recommend I take?

Of course no problem. How many bags do you have to carry? If you have a lot of luggage I recommend hailing a taxi. If you don't have too much too carry then I think it's best to go on the bus or train.

A taxi is good. Do you happen to know how much the cost is?

A taxi sounds good. Do you happen to know how much it costs?

Well where do you want to go? The taxi has a taxi meter that charges you by the distance of your destination. The farther it is, the more expensive it will be.

My destination is Hilton Downtown.

My destination is the Hilton Downtown.

That will probably cost you 10 dollars. I will hail the cab for you, don't worry I've got your bags. How long are you in town for?

Thank you. I am a stranger here. I will stay here for three days. I am going to attend an international conference in the hotel. I am looking forward to meeting new people. Anyway, could you please tell me tipping system for a taxi driver? I am not familiar with the system in this country.

For taxi drivers there is no tipping system. If you are going out to eat out at a restaurant the tipping system is 15% of your check.

I see. Thank you. Tipping is difficult for me. I always need to ask local people about the system. Tipping system depends on countries. In fact, there is no tipping system in Japan, my country. When I used a taxi in the US and paid without tipping, the taxi driver got angry. I want to avoid the same situation here.
