天気について話してみよう

It's been very hot these days. I heard on TV that it's in the middle of the rainy season right now. However, we haven't had any rain for nearly three weeks. I read in the newspaper that there were some floods taking place in some other parts of Japan. How is the weather in your area now?

The recent weather is totally different from what it used to be. It may be related to global warming or something. The rain these days is heavy and causes accidents even if it rains for a very short time. I also prefer cool days to hot days. However, at this time of the year food gets bad easily, so we must be careful in choosing what to eat.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Nobody knows exactly how to prevent the destruction of the natural environment, which is caused by our modern life style. However, everybody has started to realize that we must take some measures before it's too late.

I don't know much about that election, but I hear Al Gore is famous for his enlightenment of environmental issues. I hope more and more people become interested in those problems.
