I just arrived this morning and will be in Japan for 10 days. Do you have any tips on traveling in Japan?

I recommend to see both of the Japanese modern side and traditional side. If you do that, you can get to Japanese heart and you can really enjoy them. First of all, I recommend to visit Tokyo, and then to visit Kyoto.

Is Tokyo the modern side of Japan, and is Kyoto the traditional one? What can I find in these two different cities?

People in Tokyo lives and works in skyscrapers and uses brand-new technology routinely. It is rather artificial but there still remain a lot of parks and greenery. People in Kyoto still lives and works with historic monuments of ancient Kyoto, where had flourished as a capital of Japan with splendid royal court culture since 794. It is unique.

Wow! They are two diverse cities! How far are they from each other?

The distance between Tokyo and Kyoto is about 450km. It cost a little high though, if you use bullet train, it takes two hours and twelve minutes. Even this time you visit one city, you should be the other one someday. It is worth to see and feel Japanese framework in your bones.

Sounds very interesting! Also, I'm very interested in food. What food do you recommend?
#miss

There are countless delicious local dishes in Japan because Japanese island has vastly different climate patterns. However I recommend "sushi", "noodles", and "okonomi-yaki" for foreigners. They are very special Japanese foods and I know that many foreigners love them. Please enjoy them at each place where you visit and compare the differences.

Thank you for the tip. Can you recommend any good hotels? I'm on a budget so the cheaper the better.

There is a nationwide budget hotel called "APA Hotel". It offers reasonable price, comfortable guest room, large natural hot spring and a buffet breakfast for free. It is pretty good, isn't it?
