Requesting to take a company laptop home

Have you finished the report yet?
#miss

Unfortunately not yet.. I have to sign any documents I take off-site at the end of shift. Our It policy bans from bringing any hardware unless we have any permission from our manager. In addition, I must request to GA Division in advance the USB drive which I take the files on. Am I right and do you think I'm in time?

If I give you permission, can you have the report finished by tomorrow afternoon?
#miss

Probably I can. I'll try it even though I might pull all-nighter. Why don't we let people have their own USB?
Isn't it easier? I heard that our company used to that in the past. But it had issues with privacy concerns, people losing them, that kind of thing.

Yes,we faced serious privacy issues in past when people were using their own USB and because of that company changed it's policy and we do not permit our staff to use their own USB.

I guess it's important to know who is taking what off-site.

#or

I suppose they need to know who records what off-site .

Yeah it is really important but it can compromise the quality of work and confidentiality of the staff.

Researchers from the University of Berkeley's School have come up with an ingenious device that might, one day soon, replace the need for passwords. A press release explains "Instead of typing your password, in the future you may only have to think your password." I believe people would be willing to replace passwords with pass-thoughts.
