上司に会社のパソコンを自宅へ持ち帰ることを伝えよう

Requesting to take a company laptop home

Will you be able to finish the report by tomorrow afternoon?

In order to do it, I want to bring my laptop to my home. There are some reason.
First, the report is very difficult for me. The content includes the information which I have not ever seen before. I must fill in the lack, I need a additional time to study it.
Second, we should not stay in this office so long, because of COVID-19. This city, Tokyo, ask us to avoid crowd places, but there are many people here. For avoiding the infection risk, we should work at our homes as far as possible.

Well, we are currently not under lockdown so I am not quite sure if it would be appropriate to do so.

As you know, Japan cannot undertake lock-down to prevent from COVID-19 infection because of the law. in April and May, the worst time we suffer from the virus, the government alerted us to the pandemic and just ask us to avoid going outside without reason. Therefore, it is dangerous to judge the appropriateness whether the government undertake lock-down or not. The time must not occur in our country, so we would become too late if you should continue to think so.

Oh, alright then. I guess with those reasons it would be wise for you to take it home. When would you bring it back?

I have three tasks including your tasks, finish the report. Their dues are in three or four days, so I need to be allowed to use my laptop in my home for at least the same days. Therefore, I will bring it back Friday at once, because the date of today is Monday. Then, if I will need to continue to use it there, I will ask you again. The reason is the situation has a risk that I may lose the equipment, I should report that I have protected the company property appropriately periodically.

At first, I'm keen to know where the report is in our department's portal. I have not been working for only a year, so I think I have a lot of things necessarily to know.
