What do you think about Japan's economy for the future?

I was shocked by the new government data that two in five homeless people in Japan want to continue to live on the streets. Officials spoke to almost 1,200 country's homeless people in November 2021. 41 percent said they want to continue living on the street. Moreover, compared to 18% want to find a place to live and a job to support themselves. Don't you think it surprising that 41% of Japan's homeless want to continue live on the street?

1. Use the gerund "living" in the phrase "to continue doing something." ("They continued playing video games.")
I am pretty surprised by this data. Did they reveal any reasons most homeless people want to continue living on the street?

The survey didn't mention it, but I would like to notice about the problem is their incomes. Almost half say they did have jobs. However, their average incomes were only about $425 per month. The average one-room apartment at the Tokyo area cost over $500 a month in June 2022. It is obvious that they can't live independently.

1. Use the phrase "point out that" instead of the verb "notice" ("become aware of"). ("Anna noticed George's new hairstyle.")
2. Use the preposition "in" in the phrase "in the Tokyo area." ("At" is used when we are at the top, bottom, or end of something; at a specific address; at a general location; and at a point.)
Yes, renting a place is out of the question. However, where do these people live? Are there many homeless people in your area?

No, but sometimes I see homeless people in the neighboring park. After the pandemic started, I saw a homeless woman at the park next to my youngest son’s kindergarten. Japanese government defines homeless people who live in public places like parks, streets and train stations. However, it does not count those who sleep in internet cafes and have no other place to live. I think the government should help them as soon as possible.

1. Place the Oxford/Serial comma before "and." It is a comma used after the penultimate item in a list of three or more items, before "and" or "or." ("an Italian painter, sculptor, and architect")
